The current issue of Airliner World says (and I quote).. The aircraft of 216Sqn are currently expected to be in service until 2015. The precurement of their replacement has been a lengthy and controversial process: the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft is being obtained through a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project.. blah blah, blah blah.. The first FSTA is due to be in service in 2011. A progressive rundown of the TriStar and VC10 fleets is planned so that by 2015 over 30 years of RAF service will have come to an end.. unquote.

And there you have it ;-)
