Cheers Mate..

It's like the question 'How do you skin a cat'? There are many ways you can skin a cat as there are many ways of encoding a clip for upload.. most of which are faster sending the clip up to the web  When the right combination of equipment and software come together, it's all pretty painless. It doesn't really help that I use Pinnacle Studio so infrequently, I almost have to re-learn how to use it with each clip I do. For the forseeable future, I'll be using MP4@640x480/Good Quality for clip uploads (though it'll probably be another 12months before that happens again!) and MP2/DVD quality for producing DVD's. Been a useful exercise and I suppose all the agro was worth it. I can now return to being plain grumpy instead of MEGA grumpy

C'mon Dave, surely there must be a Mr Happy in you somewhere!! :worried:

Great vid ande enjoyed watching it though have to say the intro was rather like you get on the box.....it went on and on and......... :brick:

Sorry, but it was like waiting for a good film to start and by the time the credits/intro has finished... you lose interest

Having said all that I just remembered I have done exactly the same on one of my vids!! :doho: :brick: :$

Regards
Nigel.

I agree mate.. it does go on doesn't it and this feeling doesn't change when there's a full taxi sequence rather than the short bit I cut it to. I could have cut it and given more aircraft but my instructions were not to give too much away. Joe Public will hopefully get into the spirit of things and buy the DVD.. if it ever gets made  My honest opinion is that the DVD will be a complete tw@t to put together (I have all the necessary bits here and have done for a couple of years.. it was supposed to be done by some 'Pro' chappie!) for very little return. The old boys at Brooklands 'presume' editing DVD's and producing a masterpiece is as easy as sending an email but the truth is very far from that

Well done Dave. According to various websites, MP4 is favourite for YouTube so you got there in the end. H264 is a newer variant of MPEG4 if I understand the blurb correctly.

Ian

Edit: And Nigel, MPEG4 (using DivX which is another variant) may be the solution to your video encoding problems with VirtualDub

Hi Ian, think I have found what the problem is.................ME!! :doho: :brick: :brick:

Had set the Fraps to half size and that brings out the cr*ppiness in the vid, I have also deselected recording/playback that you get in the bottom of the screen from FS recorder so all I have to do is count!!

New vid out tonight or sometime tomorrow PM depending how quickly I can put it all together just using Window Movie Maker. :worried:

Nigel.
