Jon
Just looked at the Alphasim Valian B1 off the Pond as I had checked it in FSX some time ago and found the crew door does not open same with the bomb doors, for some reason key strokes C and V will not work in FSX and for those reasons left it off FSX, mine was paid for years ago when I still lived in UK and so have the correct panel, the Alphasim free release did not come with a panel hence you having Mr Ito's panel with no credit to him, Phil Perrot did indeed release a pack of I think 140 bitmaps for panels he had done amongst them is the Valiant panel, hunt around for this file then you will have a abundance of panels to play with,
alphasim_panel_bitmaps.zip
You say that Dave Maltby is the owner of the guages unfortunatley the model you posted is devoid of guages as they are not in the download, just as well I think.
There was a slightly heated thread on SOH about portovers and borrowing bits without asking one was about the Alphasim MB5 which I did a fix for the black props in FSX which also work in CFS2 I never claimed the MB5 was FSX just that it worked fine for me I didnt do the port over the paints I modified were by Nick Bradin my conversion of 1 bmp was done with Nick's permission, they are now on the pond.

I'll deal with this as I'm not happy at the moment. This portover business is causing more problems than its worth. Give it a few hours and I'll be able to tell you EXACTLY what was used in that Panel.
A Not very happy Jon
Re: UKFlightsim's next few releases
Jon the best I can think of is forget the portover bit, let people try it for themselves and decide if it is acceptable, churnining out purported FSX portovers that do not work is more damaging to your setup, might I ask your true age.

Re: UKFlightsim's next few releases
16 sir. I think we'll stop portovers after the Valient. We only decided to do more after the success of our Portover of the UKMIL Sentry but we gave it a new panel, new textures and a new sound set.Rich wrote:Jon the best I can think of is forget the portover bit, let people try it for themselves and decide if it is acceptable, churnining out purported FSX portovers that do not work is more damaging to your setup, might I ask your true age.

Re: UKFlightsim's next few releases
Good move Jon
You obviously have keenest and ability but this portover lark is flogging a dead horse.
Best turn that energy into some original work or stuff in partnership with original authors and no doubt superb results will come of it.
Put bluntly.....I think trying to post FS.9 into FS.X is a waste of your talents ;-)

That's why I post stuff on here. Cause I know the people on here will help and try to make the things better were I'm failing. I'm going to have to learn about animatiing stuff so I might be able at some point to be able to learn about to start on something interesting (FS9/FSX Venom springs to mind. One thing I would like to know is how do you convert a FSDS file in GMAX cause I've found a venom fsds file on the web which hopefully I can use as a basis/learning project.)Garry Russell wrote:Best turn that energy into some original work or stuff in partnership with original authors and no doubt superb results will come of it.

Re: UKFlightsim's next few releases
I have been assured that the panel background came from alphasim_panel_bitmaps.zip and is therefore nothing to do with the Kaz Ito panel. Also, the only gauges used were by Dave Maltby who I shall be getting in contact with shortly.Rich wrote:the Alphasim free release did not come with a panel hence you having Mr Ito's panel with no credit to him, Phil Perrot did indeed release a pack of I think 140 bitmaps for panels he had done amongst them is the Valiant panel, hunt around for this file then you will have a abundance of panels to play with,

Jon you said

Dave should have been asked before not after, however at the moment there are no gauges in the pack so the panel is devoid of gau unless you allready have Daves VC 10 gauges , you took the trouble to include Alphasims instructions on how to set up bomb door opperation using the C + V keys for Concorde visor, for me and a lot of other people these keys no longer work in FSX, Ms bogup ?? can anyone get C or V to do anything ???
You may want to compare the Ito and Alphasim
Alphasim from alphasim_panel_bitmaps.zip

Ito panel from his Valiant

A slight difference I think

Re: UKFlightsim's next few releases
He used the ex-Alphasim one, I'm certain of that. I know as I've checked it.

Re: UKFlightsim's next few releases
Jon, just redownloaded the Valiant and this is the panel that comes with it looks more like the Ito one to me.
