Hi Jon

You shouldn't change and repackage without the authors permission

This is in breach of copyright

The fact it is freeware does not negate copyright

It doesn't matter how little you have altered the package, you are putting it out as an FS.X version when it is clearly not and not sanctioned by the author.

Often the original authors gets lots of emails complaining about shortfalls on something they have had no part in.

You should withdraw any that you have not got express permission to repackage.

Easy to do. Will contact people as we only put them up on a couple of sites. This will only affect the ones belonging to Mr Ito.

Shouldn't take long and I'll have to e-mail mr Ito AGAIN as he's not replyied to my last 5 e-mails.
Edit: Pulling requests gone in so its up to simviation now as they're the only one who put two of them out to the public out of the 3 sites re-added them too.

OK Jon

If he doesn't reply then that could be because he is not well or perhaps it is just one of hundreds of mails he gets and doesn't spot it's different.

There is a general feeling that if someone does not replay then it is OK..This is opposite to reality.

Some authors don't want their FS.9 models in FS.X simply because the results shown here are embarrassing. If a model is to go into FS.X then it is the authors call and no one elses. Most would want to do a propper FS.X version in due course if at all. The problems Nor Cal Prop Group have caused are immense doing this sort of thing.

All done though with good intention.....but

That is true. It was done in good intention but I'll wait to see if I ever get a reply. They're all still on the UKFS server but they've all been removed from the public areas. It would appear that only the Barracuda and the DH86 got out on Simviation only making pulling them much easiler.

I don't take it Presonally.

I see it as another developer protecting a fellow developers work which is prefectly fair. I'd do the same for any of your work so I don't see a problem with it.

IIRC the forum on SimOuthouse revealed that Mr Ito has eyesight problems and may never release any more projects.

Furthermore his English is not very good (but then again how many of us can speak any Japanese?).

I thought that there was someone on this forum who had been in contact with him in the past - maybe they can help?

Sorry for bother caused but I thought it should be pointed out before hundreds of people complain and Hold Mr Ito responsible, I will continue to use his Barracuda, Gannets, Sea Balliol and Blackburn Roc as they are the only ones availiable at present, I know he apparently has vision problems and is unlikely to model anymore, it would be nice if he passed the scource files to a trusted person who could fix the prop transparencies but I think that is unlikely too.

I know there have been a lot of comments on his work but I thank him for models we would not otherwise have and hope his vision problems can be fixed or at least prevented from getting worse.

His jets are ok ported over
