Hi All

Has anyone had any dealings with http://www.powerc.com/uk/gp/custom%20ga ... pg/pc.main

I'm looking for a second machine (originally purely for data) but all in all it's poor value to go to the high street (and I can't see anything that fits the billl)

This company can provide literally what I need with the Ibuild section, and what's more can supply XP SP3 on disc (so I can get my grubby paws into some FS projects again) - so my thinking is going to spend a little more for a machine which will give me a decent FS9 performance (I don't run anything else really) and relegate the current machine to secondary duties.

My main concern is I can't honestly say I've heard of this company before, so if anyone has, please let me know!

A friend of mine has had one of their machines for about a year now and is very satisfied with it, though he's not what you would call an intensive PC user. I think I'll be going to them for my new PC in the autumn, and its going to be a budget-busting monster.

Anyway, its another option for you.

PS: They can supply XP SP3 too.

My ten pnce worth; I agonised over where to get my next pc from, the shops were not offering what I wanted and my local pc shop/builder couldn't see why I wanted a high end pc 'just toplay games on'.

After a great deal of surfing someone on the CBFS forum mentioned http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk. I tried them out and liked the service. Within 5 days my pc had been built and was up and running in my den. No fuss, hassle or problems at all. 6 months later and everything is still fine.

So, it is worth your while giving them a try - you can build your pc on line without any obligation and if you make a mess they will advise you.

On the subject of OS and RAM - is there any point in taking more than 2 Gig if using XP home?
