New guy checking in - where are the aircraft?

Post by johncantwell »

Hi guys,

I've just registered on the recommendation of several of my fellow British Airways Virtual colleagues. I guess I must be a bit thick, because despite an hour of searching the website and the forum I can't find the aircraft downloads area. I am looking for a Vanguard and a Viscount. I found plenty of repaints, but where are the original aircraft? Do I need to get these from Rick Piper's site and apply your repaints?

HELP

Hello John and welcome. In the past, I too have spent many fruitless hours searching for the aircraft (but never admitted it!). Most members won't realise why because they use auto login. I don't - I only log in if I'm going to post. As the downloads section is for members only, it will be invisible if you've forgotten (or chosen not) to log in.

Indeed Leif :)

My later repaints that were for the Vanguard at least and not used in the VA, are ONLY on Classic British Files.

I think all the important repaints for these aircraft are on there certainly all mine are.

Other Classic British aircraft not from this site can be found on CBF too and it is the best one stop shop for this subject once you have the latest VA pack from here as they do contain some updates for our VA.

That's what I meant by forget the extra paints for now..get the download here then add the paints you already downloaded and then pop into Classic British Files :)

Thanks for the welcomes. I found the aircraft eventually (yes, I think I am thick) and am now struggling to come to grips with the Viscount. I'd kill for a tutorial, but I'll keep trying to find my way.

Cheers
John

Hi Garry, yes it worked fine, thanks. Sorry, I should have said so. :$ The problem I was having was an issue at my end, as my login didn't seem to 'stick'. After I closed down IE and re-entered the website all was well. Now working on learing the Viscount.

Many thanks
John
