Eddie, that one of the many roundabouts' at Swindon brought back memories for me......Had to negotiate those twice during my HGV Class One Driving Test.....Enough to give you a nervous breakdown!!
Regards
Nigel.
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
We don't have many roundabouts in the Colonies - DC has a few and no one knows what to do when they get to one. I think they are a great idea, saves petrol and if you miss your turn, you just keep going around ala 'National Lampoon's European Vacation.'
Had I come across something like that Swindon roundabout the last time I drove in the UK I would have soiled myself. I was ok on the traditional roundabouts, I got used to driving on the left and once I discovered what the zig-zag lines on the curb represented, I stopped hitting pedestrians. ;-) When I got back to the Colonies I almost went around Thomas Circle in DC clockwise, instead of counter-clockwise. Would not have been a pretty scene had I done so.
