Well mate.. as you'd guess from the Maple leaf, 405 Squadron is Canadian (it's still active in the MPA role) and they used modified Lancaster X's (the 10 being Canadian built). I've no idea how modified they were and all the pics I've found thus far show a nose turret.. something currently missing from that example. :dunno:

Well, I'm sure Dave will pop over during his coffee break on Wednesday and read the notice for us!

I'll do better than that.. I'll swipe the notice! .. digitally of course

Garry.. you are fully excused describing the turret as the 'glazed bit' ;-) If I felt as rough as you do.. I dread to think what I might have said  It wouldn't have been nice anyway

Dave wasn't one of those Lancs for that Discovery program about the descendants of the real Dambuster crew members flying the mission in FS2004...?

Hello Mate..

Ask me another question.. do I have the discovery channel (or sky for that matter)

NO!

I've peeped inside both 'Lancs' before and it's obvious that one is the real thing and one is 'an artists impression' but I can't remember which was which. I seem to remember a prog on CH4 yonks ago about modern day RAF bods flying the Dams Raid (they were trainees I think) in either FS or CFS and this ended up as part of a product sold by JustJoking. Or, am I barking up the wrong gravestone (dog's name witheld)

I know what you mean Dave about one being real and the other a mock up but can't think which is which.

If it had been a couple of Boeing fuselages it would be easy to see at a distance......the mock up would be the better made  :-#

Does anyone recall that guy who was building a complete Lancaster cockpit section in his garage ? It was wooden shell, but was going to have as much authentic equipment, instruments, fixtures and fittings as possible inside. From the outsude, you would never have guessed it was plywood on wooden frames. I wonder if it was ever completed.
