The sounds of Traffic using AIBlast...

Post by petermcleland »

Here is a YouTube video with advanced AIBlast being used...It is quite good quality and if you have a sound card the turn the volume up loud...If you can hear the rain pattering on the windows in the quiet moments as Air Force One completes his lining up, then you have it loud enough:-

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LAdd7gYCzCY

It is best watched after clicking "Watch in High Quality"

If anyone is really interested in a larger resolution visual presentation in Windows Media Player then here is a longish Zip download:-

It is not worth bothering with that for the sound because the YouTube is perfectly adequate, but it does look good in a larger size in WMP...you can play it direct from the WinZip window :flying:

Thanks for posting that video, Peter. It's better to hear it than to try and imagine it from a description. It makes quite a difference, doesn't it? I'm running Vista, though so I'll have to manage without.

What was also interesting was to see McLeland Field come to life. I've only ever seen it in stills before. There's a lot going on and those sailors are pretty determined to get some time in even in that weather! Fascinating.

Ian ;-)

Thanks for watching Ian...You must have downloaded the zip file to see that much...Yes, that was the real weather a couple of days ago and in the zip file you can really see the rain. One thing we don't have at McLeland Field are Airbusses and with the specific files fitted for each model the sounds are very distictive...Nothing like the Boeings. Perhaps I should have made the video at Kai Tak where there are plenty of them operating :flying:

Where can you purchase AIBlast from? I looked at it a while ago and found many users had problems running it with the new versions of fsuipc. Has this been fixed?

Thanks
Steve

Hi,

You lose the touchdown "chirp" with later FSUIPC versions, in my experience. Not much of a loss (and one I have been able to reverse for my own AI aircraft).

Here is the link to FSHotSFX:

http://www.fshotseat.com/

Make SURE you download and try the demo before buying it - you will get no support, other than reactivating your reg key for new installations.

Hope this helps,

I switched off that Tyre Chirp in AIBlast as it's positioning was buggy...I fitted my aircraft with a Tyre Chirp in their individual Aircraft.cfg files and this is very reliable :flying:

Hi,

I use AI Blast and also had been getting "buggy" tire chirp sounds. For some reason they began to sound off at about 100 feet or so above the runway. I found out the problem was with my FSUIPC. I had updated it to version 3.8 and that caused the buggy sounds. As soon as I went back to a previous, older version, my tire chirp sounds were just fine. The version of FSUIPC I ended up using was version 3.4

I hope this solves your issues.

Mike
