Greetings, Earthlings -
My PR people said I should use the standard alien response: "Those who need to ask are not entitled to know"
but I suggested that a more prosaic explanation would be better cover. Naturally they accepted.
So, officially, it is a temperature inversion causing a mirage reflection of the sodium vapour lights on a nearby carriageway, including a roundabout.
Altogether now...I SAID NOW!!! :prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

I thought they resembled a row of street lights too, but according to the article, they were moving. Quote " They were travelling 15 at a time and every six minutes more seemed to be coming over the horizon. "

Surely if they were appearing 15 at a time they must be busses

Sky Lanterns from Lincoln?

http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/new ... ticle.html

Copy of a readers letter: These were my sky lanterns, there were 50 set off from the grounds of the Lawns in the bailgate just after 10pm on Sat night at my wedding. They looked amazing and we have video of them, hope you all enjoyed the spectacle.

Don't know how much fuel they had but we have had some warm weather to keep 'em aloft!!

Just a thought!

Nigel.

Yup look like sky lanterns to me also. A barrage of them appeared here a while back, and the whole street was out, cars stopped, even the Police with the car blocking the road were out looking skyward. Above a certain height they are indistinct 'light' but a zoom in on the camera revealed the truth.

Anyone else notice the distinct similarity between the Cambridge and Lincoln pictures. The Cambridge article mentions someone took photos so you are inclined think that must be one of them - perhaps not. And the caption "These is the incredible picture.." !!

And I love the advert in the "Ads by Google" at the end: "Glo-Lantern Sky Lanterns". Google knows what these are!
