BSOD's

Hi Learned folk!

I'm starting to see regular occurances of BSOD's which appear to be linked to Page Fault in non page area Anyone have any ideas or should I go for the sledge hammer now??
Usually.. it can happen on it's own but a few moments ago, I'd just landed a VA flight at EGKK, turned off, stopped the flight and went to reduce the sim but it didn't reduce.. it went to a BSOD.. a different one to do with graphics from what I could see before it left the screen. The pc restarted itself and before windows had finished loading.. up popped the Page Fault in non page area again. It's starting to annoy me :@

I had that Dave....It turns out my Graphics card got hot...then slightly unseated itself...!

Make sure you PC temp is ok...may need a dust clean out...?

Latest Driver...? If so roll back one...or to your last good stable one...Just a few ideas here..

Is it the ATI one or the Nvidia one...?

I've had a few along the way.. usually USB Debug. Not had that one for a while.. I think it was the GoFlight software causing it. Removed the software and the problem went. However, this Page Fault in Non Page (could be paged) area has taken it's place. It might be related to RAM but I really don't know This sort of thing grips my Sh*t! :roll:

Hi Tony.. just saw your post jump in. I'm not sure if the card isn't at fault too mate. It's an ex-BEN nvidia 6800GT (256mb) and has probably had a rather hard life. Not too many AGP cards on the market these days (worth anything.. either that or they're mortgage sized) Woe is me :-(

how old's that mouse of yours ?



Sounds odd ?

Experienced this across many years of NT4, W2K, and XP.

Event is repeatable/replicable.



On current laptop with mini-mouse,
I've now had this occur on 4 mice,
once they'd become worn.

Replacing with a new one
immediately stopped the BSOD occurrence,
(till after about a year, when they'd eventually worn out again).



Each mouse-button contains a 2-way micro-switch.

Each Click operation -
- Depress - Break_1 then Make_2
- Release - Break_2 then Make_1


If the left-click return spring mechanism is worn,
it can apparently cause a click-bounce
with a second incomplete operation -
- Depress - Break_1
- Release - Make_1
which AIUI causes a BSOD.

Hi Paul..

Well cock my bow! It's an M$ Optical mouse matey. Can't see a year of manufacture on it but I've had it.. err.. a few years

That may go some way to explaining why I got a similar fault on the newer pc (same mouse e t c via Belkin 4 port KVM) but it wouldn't fully explain why the pc will BSOD without any input :o I've not had a chance to get the covers off yet but I can guarantee it'll be a bit dusty in the case. I'll hang off using the hammer for now.. try and blast out the crap and if that fails, I'll try a different mouse ;-)
