Hi Dave,
I agree with the point made about the email, as it happens I fully understand why anyone would be angry at their email address being given out to 3rd party complanies without their position, I would be too. I had to change email address after it happened to me, just checked it before to see if I had been spammed by this company as it was the one that was used by Avsim. Strangly I had a lot of spam, but not anything from FCS or their affiliates.
My post was more aimed at those who started to slate products marketed by them,
I apologise once again in advance if my previous post had been misunderstood.
Best Regards,
James.

Re: First Class Simulations - Third Rate Business Practises?
Hi James
Oh yeh.. I see that. It could have easily degenrated into something else due to the fact that 'brown stuff' usually sticks and for no other reason
If the data transaction between FCS and this other lot is legit (and there's no reason to believe otherwise) then I think they should have informed their customers as other, more high profile (dare I say responsible) companies do. If it isn't legit.. then what lands in your inbox amounts to spam. It's an odd one though.. someone saying they're emailing you on behalf of another party.
It's a strange old world though innit!

Sorry Dave, there is no way that FCS could have my email address by legitimate means, it is not needed to load the software off the DVD.
There is also plentiful circumstantial evidence on the sites mentioned above of others receiving FCS spam to Avsim forum email addresses only after the issue at Avsim.
As yet there is no evidence in the public domain that points to further criminal activity by the low-life involved. Not that that has stopped the knuckle-dragging denizens of forum life!
The products to which I referred are not marketed as "Sid's Crappy Fantome distributed by FCS". They are marketed as FCS copyright products, just as Justflight market the Spitfire and Lancaster as their own products and not "Aeroplane Heaven brought to you by Justflight". If you have any questions about the Justflight packages you take it up with them, not the original developer.
As the products are payware, I would expect them to be of merchantible quality, i.e. better than what is available as freeware.
If FCS choose to market products under their name then the buck stops with them. Nobody makes them market products which are inaccurate or well below the standard of already available freeware items.
The fact that they have set up a marketing campaign with another company, using an email list which is not their own, speaks volumes to me of the third rate attitude they have to the customer community. They also do not seem to be in any rush to distance themselves from the practise.
There are perfectly scrupulous traders out there, such as Justflight, who can supply any third party product which FCS do.
It is up to the customer to decide where he takes his business.

Re: First Class Simulations - Third Rate Business Practises?
Hi Allan
Yup, the relationship between FSC and their developers is understood as is the fact they sell the products branded with their company logo and associated copyrights (as do JustFlight e t c).
What I'd missed (if I have it right now) is that it's not a case that FCS have passed data to a-n-other.. more that they've nabbed it from a-n-other and used it to market their wares.. a completely different ball game  That's not a very satisfactory state of affairs whichever way you look at it and hardly something that will enhance their already shakey standing with the simming community.
Gobsmacked! :o
