E Copy Touchscreen...?

Post by Techy111 »

Hi folks....i just came across a ten inch E Copy touchscreen monitor for 20 notes.....Thing is i don't know how to use it or for what.... :worried:

It has an old serial connector and the old AGP serial connector thingy....I use an 8800GTX card and this only has DVI connectors on it...?

I was hoping to use it for a GPS screen but i remember someone posting on here that the resolution reverts to the screen with the lowest Res...is that correct...?

I use my 8800 with HDMI cables and was wondering what would happen if i placed an old graphics card on my MoBo and used the Serial connectors of that....what would happen...?

Is there anyway to get use out of this little touchscreen monitor...?

Anyone...?

If you have an older computer, you could use it as a chart/map viewer. That's what I did with my old computer. I just don't have a touchscreen yet, so I bought one of the input devices like you see on notebook computers.

I meant old as extra, sitting next to the flying computer. My old computer (chart viewer/ Manuals viewer) is on the left, New (Flying Computer) is on the right.

Tony

Let's see if we can identify the connector!

Does the 10 inch screen have a connector that looks like it would fit in the blue one in this picture (15 pins)?

If so, then you can pick up a DVD to VGA adapter for not a lot of money which would connect the screen to one of your DVI outputs.

OK, now or the resolution question - using the Nvidia Control Panel, you can set screen resolution, colour depth, brightness, etc for each screen independently.

As for whether you can get the touchscreen working is another matter! But a simple extra screen, I reckon yes.

More trouble than it's worth.

The only thing that I can find about Ecopy is a screen as an addon to a printer/photocopier.
