Stumbled on something I shouldn't have??

Post by forthbridge »

Glorious weather near Haines today - so I went for a spin in the Prospector, looking for shipping.

minding my own business, heading sort of southerly, I decided to go for a looksee 'round a corner' some way down the Lynn canal.
As I got closer, I thought I saw something...

So I swooped around, and was amazed to see what looks like a disguised strip of some sort

I then found Jonesey's blue truck:

Some old pallets and barrels:

And another truck:

I then beat a hasty retreat on the offchance I've discovered Jonesy and Peter's alternate smuggling station :o

I couldn't find this on the map, and I've been up and down literally hundreds of times - must be another 'easter egg' :flying:

Heh, looks like We'll have to write-off that cache as discovered, damn.

We really need some sort of close-in-weapons systems...

The scenery is great for exploring. I like flying to all the different log cabins near to lakes and rivers in a float plane. I can't remember if GBV2 had any but Tongass Fjords definitely had.

Yeah, I suppose it's a tribute to the sheer scale of GB that (apart from being preoccupied at PAMA) - my other usual activity is landing a floatplane in every nook and cranny I can find - yet I've never actually stumbled on anything (no idea WHY I've not looked at the included flights before????) - but I was pleasantly surprised to find these!! :o

None of the "specials" appear on the default GPS so it's all maps on the laps time, and then the weather closes in you're in real trouble. I dread to think how many illegal flights I've done but thankfully "press-on-itis" has no consequence in the sim :dancer:
