AFG Releases Caravelle VI-R

Post by FlyTexas »

Very nice! Beautiful model (no VC), amazing panel, powerful custom sounds. Check out the thrust reverser effects. :) Available now for FS2004 at Avsim.com.

Thanks for the HU, Brian! I've been waiting for the VI-R for ages...just for the United livery alone. Next to DM and RP's models, I think the AFG Caravelle has one of the nicest flight models of any freeware FS plane out there.

I hear ya, Mark. The United livery model was the one I'd been waiting for, too. I felt kinda silly flying the virtual skies of Texas in an Air France Caravelle.

They used Air France Caravelles in the Caribbean.

Air France and Iberia base short haul aircraft on rotation for services amoungst the colonies and shorter range flights in the area.

I don't know if it's done now though with so many airlines having partners working trunk route ends.

This is similar to TWA, Pan Am and United basing 727's for example in Europe.

So not as far out as you think.

Also been waiting that long for this forgot all about it until now!! :doho:

Many thanks Brian, flew in one from Paris to London Heathrow back in the seventies though to be honest wished it was in a Trident, the MOD booked me with Air France and not BEA!! :dunno:

Regards
Nigel.

I think IBERIA still must do .... because en route to and from Bogota, whenever passing through Miami, I've seen IBERIA A320's at Miami over the past couple of years .... which caught my attention because it surprised me to see them there. I must have another look next week when I next pass through Miami.

AND .... I do strongly recommend the CARAVELLE 6R by AFG, with panel/s by Benoit GUARANTE. They are .... "TRES BIEN/FORMIDABLE :) .... bloody good to say the very least ! :)

thank you Mark for the awesome sound package for the Caravelle!
WELL .... I couldn't have achieved much without the support/skills of my FS audio colleague Benoit PLAMONDON. Everything that's great about these CARAVELLE's is the result of team/community effort/collaboration. Needless to say though .... Benoit & myself have put tremendous effort into the CARAVELLE audio generally.
