event 6 & event 7

Post by alan cottrill »

Hi All.
Since the fs9 change to the spring season, any flight from england,heading out towards the channel for europe,will cause a ctd,without any warning message.
If i goto my computer\control panel\admin tools\event viewer\aplication.
I click on error,right click,then select properties.
I see the event 6 and event 7 with some code,is this a scenery problem within fs9.
Regards alan.

Hi All.
I decided to start shutting down the add on scenery progs,one at a time,then do the same flight in the same aircraft,well luck was on my side,the first one i shut down was two entrys at the top of the tree,and was to do with the justflight shorham airfield and land class,fs9 did not ctd.
Flight completed successfully,so the problem is in one of them two files by the look of things.
Regards alan.

I wonder if that is the same Shoreham that I use...I have these two entries in my Scenery.cfg file:-

[Area.125]
Title=Online Simulation Solutions - Shoreham 2005 Landclass
Layer=125
Active=TRUE
Required=TRUE
Local=OSS\EGKA 2005 Landclass
Remote=

[Area.126]
Title=Online Simulation Solutions - Shoreham 2005
Layer=126
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=OSS\EGKA 2005
Remote=

Hi Peter..

Yup.. I'm pretty sure the OSS Shoreham and the JF Shoreham are one and the same. :) Funny.. I had to disable it in FSNav the other day as the database wouldn't go past it :o Been there for yonks but suddenly it didn't want to play :roll:

Hi Peter.
I have just looked up my scenery.cfg file and the old scenery.cfg file,the entrys are different from yours,as mine are the justflight add on,also the amount of scenery i have is different from yours,but by turning it off,it seems to have done the trick for me,but this only happened after the spring auto update that fs9 does,this is not to much of an hasle for me,as i hardly use this part of my sim anyway,it only gets used when i feel like flying one of the flying club aircraft for a quick flight every once in a while.
I am only glad it was the top scenery file,as that is where i decided to start my shut downs,otherwise i might have still been looking for the problem.
regards alan.

Alan..

How long have you had 'Flying Club'?? Seems odd that this only started happening after the clocks went forward :think:

Hi -
There was a lengthy discussion (started 2005!) on the Visual Flight forums, of problems with the Shoreham sceneries, which eventually produced a solution for people using VFR Terrain and VF/GM Photoscenery. You might find some clues there. Please note the link on the final page, to a packaged 'fix' at visualflight.net will no longer work, but the files involved are listed in a post preceding the one with the link.

http://www.visualflight.co.uk/forums/to ... hichpage=1

BTW, I have never used that scenery - I just remember the discussion.

Hope this helps,
MikeW
