FS9 Freeze
I am doing the HP70 TR's at the moment. Everytime I get near to Dusseldorf between Munchen Gladbach and ETRU I freeze then CTD with a warning my PC is out of memory. I have flown from Muchen Gladbach after restarting the PC dfrom cold and itstill does it.
I operate a Silver Wings FS9. It is obviously not the duration of the flight as I have run longer flights than this.#
My specs are
ASUS P5Q Procwessor Quad CPU 2.3Ghz
4 GB of RAM
Nvidia Geforce 7900GTX
I am running on Max sliders but the system should be well able to cope with that. Any ideas please

Re: FS9 Freeze
Perhaps you could try closing down any unnecessary programs that ae running in the background to try and free up some memory, might help.

Re: FS9 Freeze
Thanks for the reply. Yes did that, but with these specs should not be a problem. I've got a feeling it might be a scenery conflict.

Re: FS9 Freeze
Simon.. do you use FSNav??
I'm not sure that FSN is the culprit but there are a couple of places I dare not go for fear of the pc freezing. Liege is one.. routing to the left and north of Nice is another :o  Routing to the south or north of Liege is fine and routing 30nm away from a particular NDB north of Nice is also safe. Don't ask me why it happens but I guess it must be a database conflict

Re: FS9 Freeze
I had to fly Luton-Athens three times yesterday because of a repeated crash near the France/Switzerland border around HOC VOR. It happened once in the opposite direction a couple of weeks ago too :@ It's still a mystery as LFRD is the only French add on I have, and I've nothing else except a few German airports and Gibraltar on mainland Europe. I turned off all those airfields before successfully trying the third time. Needless to say I took a different route home. The only recent maintenance I'd done was to add a few more stands at Cairo. Still a mystery but bl@@dy madning.

Re: FS9 Freeze
The problem seems to be Munchen Gladbach. As you may know I have multiple FS installations on my PC. Just flew it aagain on one of my other installations and it froze and CTD'd at Munchen Gladbach. I have no extra scenery addons on that one.

Re: FS9 Freeze
Hi Simon..
Route away from the known CTD area by no more than about 30nm and you should be safe. Wish there was an obvious reason for it happening but I've yet to find one

Re: FS9 Freeze
Flew the route today to the north and went over Laarbruch not Bruggen and Munchen. Crashed to desktop as i started approach to Dusseldorf.
I moved the FS Navigatopr Folder out of flightsim, flew the route out and back at 16X but no CTD. Re installed FSN took off from EDDL started to CTD I pressed F9 and it continued to fly OKay. CTD again shortly after. Seems to be FSN

Re: FS9 Freeze
Hi Simon,
Not sure if it will help but have you tried a rebuild of the FSNav database?
Regards
John
