Re: UKMil no more?

Post by edmond64 »

Hi,
I have remained out of this but now I feel it is time to air my feelings on the matter. I was one of the remaining scenery designers and I was blissfully unaware as to what was going on until I tried to enter the site and was met by a rather unhelpful and disappointing message. I do understand that it is the gaffers site and he can do what he wants with it, but to suggest that everyone had left and that nobody was doing any work is completely inacurrate. I personally feel let down and rather irritated by the way it was all done, nobody from UKMIL even tried to contact me. In the end I emailed admin and the reply was quite frankly as cold as the front page message. So there you have it, up until that point all was fine as far as I was concerned. So maybe this is a lesson for all of us, gather all the facts before throwing teddy out of the pram.

I wish one of the moderators would finally put a bolt on this thread and throw away the key

You don't have to read Ben if you don't like it, like you don't have to watch BBC2 if there something more interesting on ITV

Thats pretty rich coming from you Steve, especially as you taken the time to repeat the same pointless and deformative comments about Dave over the past couple of days. Might take your advice, seeing as BBC2 & ITV seem to have less repeats that your demoralising, degrading and opinionated forum posts

Take it from me, buy yourself a new stylus, and change the record.

I've been keeping a 'weather eye' on the thread Ben and as long as it doesn't get nasty.. it can run on a bit longer. It'll die a natural death at some point.. all threads do ;-)

Gentlemen, I think it is time we drew a line under this topic.

We should thank all concerned at UK Mil for what they have produced in all spheres, and wish them all well for the future.

It appears to me that it is just going to degenerate into a nasty case of backbiting - just because one person doesn't agree with what another posts.

Our policy here is very much one of non-intrusion unless it's absolutely necessary. How much can be said about UKMIL is like asking how long is a piece of string so.. for the immediate future, just ignore the thread if you have no interest in any further comment. The 'Mark Topics Read' button is available for those feeling the need ;-)
That said.. I'm not prepared to let it run much longer as I agree it's just about run its course. The 'now' ex-UKMIL team have a home elsewhere so my hope is that any showing of dirty laundry or alternatively, an attempt to 'move on' is aired there ;-)

Ok, there is no need for the bitching on here.

Stevo, I have told everyone why i closed the site, and it was NOT becuase you left. Your actions of leaving were just the last straw. Over the last few weeks, I have been fed up with many people in FS world, causing me grief. I often post items in the STAFF forums, so you are aware of some of the idiot emails i have to put up with. I am fully aware, there were scenery staff left, as there were painters and modellers. My actions in closing the site, were my decision, and mine alone, and as I pay the 'rent' and take all of the flak when it comes [and it does, constantly] then I have the right to do this, and not be accused of throwing my teddies

enough said, this is not the place. UKMIL has died, end of.
