I suspect that Erick has done the same with Virtual Eastern/Vistaliners as that site has been down a long time too.

Whata shame another good devolper and team gone due to whinging idiots, ok if you pay you havea right to moan when its free you should be glad for what you get, ok I am sure devlopers like feedback but always positive as being negative only destroys the enthusiasm to continue.
We have seen to many drop the "hobby" due to this......

Ben you mention Erick has done an album, whats it like you say very good, is it released etc and what sort of music.. I bet hard rock A man of many talents. ...I should have tried harder at school, maybe turning up once in awhile would have helped I guess ;-)

Sad news. Whatever, I would like to thank all at UKMil for some astounding work which I enjoy on a daily basis. For me, flightsim is immeasurably better through their skill and generosity in releasing such fine freeware as they have. I wish them all good luck in whatever they decide to do next.

I have had criticism since day 1

gave up trying to please everyone on day 2

my advice to UKMIL is to keep going and ignore the negatives or they just get you down.

if they want something better they should get off ther bum and make it themselves.

I only started because DM wouldn't make me an HS.748 so i did it myself CHEERS

I like everyone else was shocked to hear this news. The only time I have ever complained (and only in a constructive manner) was when I had bought some payware, but freeware, well its not the thing to do is it?

These people have given up their time and effort for us all - they havent sat infront of the TV, gone shopping, or gone down the pub, they have sat there for hours on end producing for us wonderful creations. We should be grateful for this and if you ever find that you dont like something, there is always a button called 'delete'.

I have said time and time again, mostly in another forum, that we should be grateful for all that we get. But they do seem to be a lot of 'experts' out there - I'm surprised someone has commented about the tyre pressures looking wrong!!

Now I dont have the time or the patience to make anything - even a pea! Thanks to all for all the wonderful hours I've had sat infront of my PC. I take my hat off to everyone that has furthered my virtual flying. And I sincerely mean that.

I research colour schemes for warbird owners and when an aeroplane is painted and taken to the shows, I've had people come up and say to my face, thats the wrong colour or the lettering is the wrong font. At times I can relate to the people at Ukmil and it has in the past made me want to just pack it all in.....but I slowly come around (when the next project arises) and perhaps given time the ukmil staff will too.

I don't know the details, but if the criticism reached a point where it became abusive, then I don't blame them for closing the shop.

It happens on here and other forums. Rick for one got very peed off when people asked him to make a Hawk for FS9, when he clearly stated it was for FSX. That sort of thing goes on all the time. Requests to other designers for their FS9 a/c to be reworked for FSX. It happens in scenery also. Gary Summons produces "Extreme" versions of his airfields, and then somebody moans because hasn't made one for their local airfield.

Somebody produces a small airfield, puts it out as freeware, and there's almost bound to be somebody who will say that something has been left out. Or it's not that colour. Not that shape. Pulled down. Put up. Then there are others who are of the opinion that if you can't do it properly, don't do it at all. It's crazy!

I for one, am happy to accept from UKMIL, the CBFS team or anybody else, freeware aircraft and scenery warts an' all. If I don't like it, I don't have to keep it, but thanks all the same.

You can't please all of the people all of the time, but if you please most of the people some of the time, good on yer. If any of those destructive critics read this, hang your heads in shame. Then go away and leave the rest of us to enjoy the fruits of the designers labours.
