Hi All.
My computer started playing up again, after my last reply,so i played around with my computer, and removed the old master dvd drive that had stated giving trouble, and since puting the computer back together, and making my new slave drive the master, all seems to be well, but the strange thing is,the old master dvd,did not show any failure symbol.
I hope that was the cause, and not some red herring, but so far so good.
regards alan.

Re: Computer whoes
DVD players are a complete Tw*T as are CD players. They don't actually show they're not working.. you usually find out when what you're trying to read off one doesn't work! Fingers crossed that's your problem ;-)

Hi Daveb.
Yep they do try your patience thats for sure,my computer booted up normally today, and i have noticed it also booted up a lot quicker than it has of late, and not a sign as yet of that ATAPI failure in the event viewer systems dialog.
Regards alan.
