Re: Confessions of a Flightsimer... (Reprise)
Ha.. sorry Dave, I'm not even close to my FSX-machine atm. But yes the "eyepoint" mover in the VC10 is able to do just the same in FSX (remember the thread Ian had when he felt like sitting on the rwy?
In my private FSX-conversion of the VC10 panel, I've changed the functionality in those two buttons to the FSX-style.
I can tell you for sure that I always use the 2D panel when I fly FSX ..... the model I fly do not have a 3D. and the 2d is exactly the same in FSX as in FS9.

come in abit late on this one, Ben nice pictures besides VFR scenery looking crappy could not see major "improvements" between FS9 and FSX.... but beauty is in the eye of the beholder

AMD Phenom II X4 BE 965 @ 3.80GHz
nVidia GTX 560 TI 448 Cores
Re: Confessions of a Flightsimer... (Reprise)
Just for the sake of “trying to figure out the problem”
In Fs9, panel view, I could move the eye point angle of the scenery up or down buy using
the same buttons I used in the VC to raise and lower the eyepoint,
but in the panel view ........up and down worked in reverse,
I think that’s correct, because in the panel view, if you can imagine, the scenery on the concave in front of you
and your view point is right in the center of up - down …..when I move up I actually see more what’s below me
or directly down in front of me. Try to look out a flat window of your house to see the foundation,,… Can’t ….
so the scenery in pinched like looking out of a bubble window .But More like rolling that view up down and around
instead of sticking your head into the bubble....
….then you can zoom in and out of that section of pinched view .
Where as in the VC when I move up I see higher over the panel like jacking up the seat
(But not the seat really, just the eye point , (as one can plainly see the pilot seat never moves)
If you use, or anyone who used the mouse view add-on for FS9 (freeware)
the VC pan could be controlled with the mouse. ( a motion like head tracker provides )
And in the panel view the scenery would pan, but of coarse the panel would stay fixed.
In FSX the default mouse view added by the MS developers, the mouse view will pan around the VC but in the panel view …
notta nuthin zip zilch …sister ! What the hell is that I ax ya?
So the question, for me is …. Is….
Was the code to pan completely left out or was it mucked up somehow so it doesn’t work
Is there a line of code that could be added or corrected in one of the cfg files ?
Can it be fixed? Because I would like to fix it.. I have a few Aeroplaes
I like to fly that only have a panel view, well they have nice side views and wing views as well…

Hi Joe..
Dan reckons there is. However.. none of DM's eyepoint gauges work for me in FSX. Perhaps I've not tried em since SP2 (likely)

No and that's because DM uses the FS9 functionality, where I use the FSX functionality in my converted panel ;-)

Well Dan.. are you gonna let us have a gauge with the correct coding or sit there smugly being the only one who can move their butt's up and down??

Re: Confessions of a Flightsimer... (Reprise)
Well it's a little more than just a gauge, it's actually a complete redo in FSX-style of DM's panel. So I'm not sure I would take the liberty of offering it without prober testing and David's blessing. I have the textures converted as well to dds. format etc. etc ... so it's actually a "FSX'fication" of the SVC10 ....
