Another point to remember about using Kai Tak. Peter, like myself, is using the FlyTampa payware scenery. This sits alongside Chek Lap Kok and allows Peter to divert one third of his traffic. 9Dragons is different in that it takes the whole of the Hong Kong area and turns it back in time to 1997 before Chek Lap Kok was opened. In 9Dragons CLK is a building site with no runways, so if you currently have AI traffic visiting it you will HAVE to divert it to Kai Tak as it is the only Hong Kong airport.

Hope this helps. Although it probably doesn't!

BTW Peter - I'm planning to pop over to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks time. What was that old fogey's pass that you got that allows cheap travel on the Star Ferry?

Ian...when you get into the main hall in CLK, before you go through to the train, you will see a desk in the centre and you can buy your "Octopus" there...Make sure you stress "ELDER" and you will see that word stamped on the bottom right corner...You DON'T need it on the Star Ferry because you actually travel FREE and you should go down the separate passageway for "ELDERs" but any younger person with you must go along the normal passagway and use his/her Octopus. You can use your Octopus to pay fares on the Trams etc...Just place it on the pedestal thing at the door briefly as you get off and the fare is subtracted from it automatically. Don't throw it away when you leave...just keep it for next time and the same desk will credit what is left onto your new Octopus :flying:

Thanks, Peter. I'll do that. I don't think I'd better leave my young stepson to the cut and thrust of second class on his own! But I do know someone who will be tickled pink with the idea of getting free travel on the ferry!

BTW Peter = on the subject of free travel - the drop in premium passengers on BA opens up a wealth of staff travel opportunities for retired staff such as ourselves. The chance of a seat to Hong Kong at half term would have been laughable a few months back. Now there are plenty of seats in all classes.

Yes Ian...I'm hoping to go down to South Africa in March to visit an old mate from 208 Squadron :dancer:
