Just visted this sites home page http://hawxgame.uk.ubi.com/ & the box cover bottom right shows it being for XBOX 360, though other platforms might follow along.

Looks like it will suit those with short attention spans, & like to zoom along & Mach1 shooting all & sundry.

I prefere my flight to be a liitle bit more quiter....the only excitement being when the stewardess bends forwards to pour more coffee :tab:

watched the full hd video last year for this game. made you think wow this is what fsx should have been. the heat shimmers from the aircraft engines were trully outstanding. pity the game is based around an alian invasion but hey , that's were the main interest is with the general public. i have fsx but it ain't a patch on these graphics.

It's an arcade shooter really. I'll certainly pick it up for the PS3 but it's in no way a flight sim type of game.

Looks like it offers stunning graphics. Shows that potentially the PS3/XBOX360's knock spots off PC's for graphics.

Not really. Almost all console games that are ported to PC (or games that are released at the same time on all three platforms) contain more advanced graphics settings and support far higher settings than on both the PS3 and XB360.

Without seeing it in the flesh nothing is certain, (it could be a lousy port to the PC), however I'm willing to put money on the fact that HAWX will look better (or contain options for those with more powerful PC's to scale up the graphics) on the PC than on the consoles.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PS3 but for some things I'll always plump for the PC version. Usually first person shooters and real time strategy (and obviously flight simulators) whilst I leave the more casual games for the console.

Chris is sport on, the PC Graphics engines are far superior to those in consoles. Bare in mind if you had a 32"+ PC monitor at 1080p res, everyone would complain. Almost all consoles can only run at 1080p as a max res. Not to mention the shadding etc that can be done on PC systems. ;-)

Well guys your explanations are way beyond my knowledge of expertise in this field so I must stand corrected. :)

However my mk1 mince pie never failed me yet. And those preview screenshots look better than any FSX shot I could muster up.

Yes, but then it's not trying to do everything FSX is trying to do. For starters the flight model will be arcadish, it'll only be modelling a fraction of the planet and it's atmosphere and the ATC will probably be even worse than FSX's efforts.
