jsut to annoy me dell have decided to withdraw they're xp 420 moments before i order it :@
so instead im left with a choice of a studio or they're 430... which is 64 bit...
except for knowing that it can cope with 8 gig of ram is there any particular advantage to having an extra 32 bit (clearly has no idea what am talking about)
64 bit...

Hi Mate, Are they shipping it with the x64 OS? To be honest, if your not sure what x64 is, then your best staying clear because A: you don't need it and B:some 32bit apps may not work. Emphasis on the may, as I've been running x64 for 2 years without problems. You'll almost certainly never see the benefit of 8GB in home use, unless you are doing a lot of video editing. ;-)
Ben.

Re: 64 bit...
Ill agree with Ben here, when i built this system i built in mind of 64 bit Vista and 4gig of RAM from the outset. This i did and i now have 8gig and i didnt see any increase in performance but its there in case... The benifits of a 64bit OS is basically the RAM allocation can go upto 128gig for certain versions of Vista, but generally your 32bit FS wont use more than 2gig...
For the OS itself it can have problems but ive not seen any, just make sure you get 64bit drivers and if poss 64bit programs...
