Aerosim...

What it is you're looking for Alan?? I have the Aerosim Tristar which I bought many moons ago. It's not a bad looking model but a bit long in the tooth when compared to today's offerings. The FD is a little suspect but it's not too bad :)

Alan,
I bought pack 1 & pack 2 several years ago simply because I wanted a Tristar, 737-200, and DC-8 with virtual cockpits (and the Aerosim models are sadly the only game in town for those). As Dave mentioned, the flight dynamics on all the birds are a little suspect (I never realized that a fully loaded DC-8 could take off in 2,000ft of runway and climb out at +25 degrees nose up??)

That being said, the visual models are reasonably adequate. The 747 and L-1011 are definitely the best of the batches. The other craft are all lackluster. They're all basically 'ctrl+E' type of planes, so don't expect any detailed systems simulations. Good luck!

Sri Alan.. no idea about either of those two I'm afraid :dunno: If the price is right.. you could risk it for a biscuit and if you're happy.. you got a good deal and if not.. you've not lost much ;-)

Sorry as well, Alan. I don't have the YS-11/Saab combo. Not sure if you're already familiar with it or not, but if you're looking for an excellent YS-11 try the AFG one. Freeware, to boot!

Hi Mgchristy.
Yes i am more than familiar with AFG YS-11,I have several in my fs9 sim,and i helped esa do some repaints of the YS-11 V2.7,which are on avsim, and i made the tripple paintkit, much modified to help me do the repaints, latest tripple paintkit is a massive file, and as of yet not been sent to avsim.
But i was just trying to see if the aerosim one was better or worse, the two big differences, are esa never did the different engine with 3 bladed props, and never got round to do the electric panel, and aerosims version seems to have more u/c detail.
I was just curious on this one,as for the saab 320b,i have a couple of FFG versions and one mike stone version, but i am not overly impressed with FFG version, which was never fully completed, mike stone never did great detail, but you knew about this before you downloaded them,as he was always clear in is readme files.
regards alan.
