A new classic Brit from Alphasim?

Post by DaveG »

According to the guys over at Sim-Outhouse and the unofficial Alphasim forum, Alphasim's up-and-coming release is a Britten-Norman Islander :o
FSX & possibly FS9. No screenies yet though :dunno:

Hi Guys

Looks good

Not sure about the pointy nose in those shots but looks like a BN2 otherwise (might be a different variant) so not knocking it's accuracy.

Well done whoever built it as i for one will buy it when it's out

Regards
Rick

I know there are variants with a pointy nose, though how common they are I don't know. :dunno:

Dave, Dan has said it may be back-converted to FS9, it all depends on how complex the finished article is.

The pointy, or more pointy nose is the later aircraft

That has the early wingtips by the look of it.

Cheers DG.. I live in hope ;-)

Rick..
I now have a system capable of running FSX but I still can't bring myself to go over. A fair whack of the big airports I have in FS9 have freebie (or low charge) updates for FSX but they slow it to a crawl and I still don't like using FSC8 to navigate. The ground textures are crap (except for the UK where I've got GenXv1) and I've lost the will to update em. Going through the rigmarole of adding all new FSX payware airports to the UK is just too costly an exercise for me and the defaults make me wanna cry :'( Nice idea but having fallen into deeper abject poverty with no immediate respite on the horizon.. flying the default FSX world is as depressing as the economy :-(
The good news is that it's available for beta testing should the requirement arise
