Hello Mate..

I wouldn't like to call the shots between those two. Certain things I like more about PC1 but there are things about PC2 I like. Isn't that always the way  RW.. they should both be quicker than a quick thing on a quick day and as much depends on what you're gonna use em for as anything.

Over to the experts ;-)

silly me forgot to put what it was for

I will be using the pc for FSX, possibly some other games (not that likely) and apart from that just general office type stuff.... :cpu:

I like a lot about both of em mate but briefly..
I like the Quad processor and the 512mb 9800GT off system 1 and the 16mb SATA drive and 4gig on PC2 (as well as the 3ghz cpu). Can't understand why they went for 3gig of ram on system one.. especially in that format. 2xmatched dual channel would've been better me thinks though I could be talking out of my rear end  The ATI HD's are the size of bungalows and consume as much power though if HD is what you're into.. that'd be a better choice.
The OS on both is 32-bit rather than 64-bit but again.. it's the toss of a coin.

I'm certain they'll both run FSX perfectly well but one of the techies will be able to pull the bones out of em for ya ;-)

Having looked a lot into this quad dual core thing.. I have read that the E8600 is the best cpu for your needs, it like the E8400 has 3ghz per core and is faster for FS than aquad running at a lot less per core! AMD always my favourite sadly is now outclessed by the dual core intels. I know when I have money the E8600 will be the one.
PS forget about this crap of each core adding up to a total amount they DONT, The software at the moment ie FS does not use 4 cores so its actually slower!

Depends on the version of FS. FSX definitely uses all the cores you throw at it.

As far as graphics go...stay away from ATI HD....pretty poor IMHO....go with the 9800....better all rounder....

PC1 for me

For Flightsim it's much better than PC2

Quad core is far superior for FSX anyway

Q6600 will run at 3.00ghz even with a std heatsink & fan

Rick
