Once that's done, my job is to get it up and running again as a simulator for which I'm planning to use a Lightning in MS Flight Sim (not sure which version yet) as the basis. I've already managed to enlist the aid of a home cockpit builder to help me over the technical problems such as how to connect the existing stick, rudder and throttle to FS and how to run the multiple displays that will be required but I need some advice on a suitable Lightning and which version of FS to use.
With very limited experience of military aircraft in FS (why couldn't it have been a Hunter sim?) the only Lightning I've heard of is Alphasim's. If anyone has experience of this model, is it recommendable in terms of performance, sound and cockpit graphics?
Are there any other Lightning's you'd recommend - freeware or payware?
I'm thinking of using FS2004 in kiosk mode as we do with 2 of the other simulators at the museum but are there any advantages in using, say, one of the versions of Combat Flight Sim?
Any and all help and advice gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
