So my harsh opinion on this one is its getting binned in favour of the Simwings/Aerosoft version as previously installed, I felt there were several aspects of this scenery that let it down, its "sparseness" for one, for me it just didn't reflect the sheer size of the airport enough, and Delta 767 statics at Terminal 4?? What the hell!!! I wish developers would concentrate on scenery that people actually need, not duplicate airports. Others like Tony, may feel they have got their moneys' worth, but I feel I've wasted my time on this one. :dunno:

Sorry, not for me I'm afraid.

Surprised Ben.... You will find the detail far higher in Garys work take a look at Terminal 5 for example, I know that aerosoft released theirsbefore it was built and its obvious when you compare screenshots. also statics can be disabled so ou can have even more AI. regarding sparse...well I know that some chaps who had input on this provided detailed information on what actually is at the airport so its an accurate rendition. Maybe the other one has stuff that does not actually exist?
But everyone has an opinion and the great thng is that we all have different views etc :)
PS What are the frame rates like on each Ben, just curios as I only have Garys version, they seem good for me?

HI Tony

I was experiencing frame rates of about 20-25fps with it, which on my system is standard for any decent payware addon, but with the Simwings/Aerosoft one I've seen it drop to as low as 10-15fps mark, it is very heavy.

Ben..

Is that in FSX or FS9??
I have the Simwings/Aerosoft version and as you say, it's heavy on frames. Not too bad with AI on Sparse but crank the AI up and the combination makes for slideshow landings.. something I dislike!

Its for FS9 at the moment. FSX version due after Christmas (winterval) :@ as some say..
Yes its more frame rate friendly and from what I have heard and read its received better than areosofts version, plus the big bonus you can try it for free!!!! which is a rare and nice thing these days.. ok you get a box over a runway or so but at least you can use it and see if you think its worth the money.
Ben they are always adding new AFCADs so its worth visiting the site and getting the latest ones.

Tks for that Tony ;-)

The Simwings/Aerosoft version is, it has to be said, an absolute blinder (though it didn't like sitting on top of the UK2000 part4 - ? - LHR.. bits came through!). However.. it had to go as I prefered seeing a rubbish LHR (UK2000) with more AI than a super but empty one :-( I'll have a looksee at the free version and decide if GS is gonna get any MORE of my dosh  I have (I think) all the other 'Extreme' series so it'd be a shame not to have a full set :)

EDIT..
Couldn't be bothered to try before you buy.. went and bought it anyway. It certainly suits my system better than the Simwings scenery. I see a little tearing on certain textures (on the roof oddly enough) but otherwise, I'm happy with it. Downloaded v1.3 and still have the v1.4 patch to install. All in all, a nice bit of scenery and cool at £14.95 ;-)
