Correct I do mean the airport named for the 99th Mayor of New York, I have always loved flying in and out of there
it is in many ways very much the way it was 40 years ago and of course its proximity to Manhattan and the incredible
views on the approach and departure - I think you will find there is some excellent AI ttraffic to cover any period from the 60s through today - you can populate it with Mohawk 1-11s and 580s , Viscounts, "baby" nines Easterns Electra Shuttles
or Trumps short lived 727 shuttle - Peoples Express New York Air the possibilities are endless

Yes, I'm quite excited at the idea. The crew bus used to bring us round that way for a few years, along the Grand Central Parkway which runs right under the final approach of one the runways. You could watch the Eastern 727s flying a very slow and circuitous approach over Queens and if the timing was right they'd just skim over the top of the bus as they landed. Then we'd come up to the top of the elevated section of the Expressway and get that amazing panorama of the Manhattan skyline at sundown. Phew. Got some serious re-creating to do !

Ok will look at it, may be awhile as I am now classed as fit to return to work so starting 07;30 in the morning I will be on 12 hour shifts for 4 days ( 2 days 2 nights) will have been 2 months since my last flight so I guess I have to re learn everything...then there the zillion e-mails I have to plough through....

Re: A few more 727-100's
Leif - I've installed the La Guardia scenery and it's actually very nice. The North side, as you say, is still quite authentic with the old Marine terminal and the Central Block is 1960s which will be fine for 70s and 80s a/c.DispatchDragon wrote:Ian ... The airport your looking for is LaGarbage -- it still has the original AA hangars and the PAA seaplane hanagrs on the north side

But it might be difficult to ignore the US Airways terminal to the South!

To keep the retro atmosphere, I'll have to restrict all movements to Rwy 04/22 and delete all the gates at the USAir and Delta terminals. Keep all my action to the North and Central Blocks ...
