What happened to this brilliant project? I understood she was at final stage, months ago, but it seems almost forgotten .

Hi Kikko
It was never at a final stage months ago in fact it was still awaiting more info from the now vanished Silver City collection at Solent Sky
Stil not at a final stage even now
It has not been forgotten and still being worked on daily
There was an update posted recently
One of the problems is when I ask on the forum for help there is only silence :-(
There are already two threads on this

Garry, I am a Bristol fanatic, ask, what do you need ? Eventually I can spread out voices here in Italy to find out what do you need for the plane:)

Re: Superfreighter MK.32
Thanks Kikko
I doubt if there will be anything laying around in Italy though :-(
It was down to the Silver City collection
The Superfreighter was a special type built for Siver City and they are the only people with the info.
Ross Cogwell kindly paid them a visit before it moved on
I'm going to go with what I have but there is still a bit of fiddling to get through
I have cars for the later versions but not the earlier versions
I need to sort out freight for the none car Ferries and do the changes on the dozen or so variations.
The FDE is finshed but the sounds still have to be finalised.
I needed help a while back and did get some at first but it is very difficult on a type that has been extinct since 1975 and one that was not that well recorded in anycase :-(

Re: Superfreighter MK.32
The Silver City archive (or at least a lot of it) was still at Solent Sky earlier this month, as I was hunting through it for timetable info for some AI (didn't find a "proper" one but there was a typed undated schedule for Lydd).

Re: Superfreighter MK.32
Ah Thank you John
That means it's been returned
In the summer it had been removed by an author.
A good freind of mine was in southampton and he was going to visit the archive but it had gone.
All I need now is someone in that area who is able to go

Re: Superfreighter MK.32
Just to talk about the type (in this movie a Mk.31) , this has been filmed in Rome when Bristol sent a Freighter to Italy, trying to sell examples to italian civil or military staff , but without any luck. (the ninth film from the top)

Re: Superfreighter MK.32
Hi there,
I used to fly the Bristol "Frightener" at Lydd and Southend 1966-68 and then then the Carvair. We still hold Silver City reunions at Lydd every year_ usually July. If you need to know anything about the history of Silver City the man to contact is Keith Dagwell, his e-mail is keithDOTdagwellATntlworldDOTcom , he has published a CD on Silver City available from him,
Also he was involved with the Southampton people after moving the site from Manston.
