Thanks for the nice and positive comments, gentlemen, much appreciated ! :dancer:

As you can understand, this model was made solely with FS9 in mind ( heck, when i started this project almost everybody hated FSX, including me... :) ) and, naïve as i possibly am, i hoped that nobody would try it in FSX but of course this was pretty silly to think. Personally i don't like 'port-overs' at all because native FSX models look so extremely wonderful, don't they, and i do really hate that alpha channel problem that turns up with the canopy glass. There's nothing more i 'd like to do than get started on a native FSX version of our Sabre puppy.

At the moment a few guys over at the SOH forum are putting an 'interim FSX fix' package together for our Sabre model. I just tried the first draft, inside canopy glass is fine, even the reflection is still there, and all textures are dds format now. But i also found that, currently, the model is quite a framerate hog in FSX. I'm afraid only a native FSX model will help here because non of the suggested fixes seems to be able to deal with it. Apart from that, most radios in the VC don't turn up correctly and won't work and also the tooltips are unreadable. I will atleast try to fix the radios problem.

Anyway, i hope you have lots fun with our Sabre hotrod, be it in FS9 or FSX, there's lots more to come, including the Canadair Sabre F.4 in camo colours as used by the RAF, and of course the native FSX version. Might take a while still you understand.

Please *do* read the Flight Manual and particularly the 'f86ef_ref.htm' to really know about what this model has in store. They can both be found in your main 'SF8_F-86EF_Sabre' folder. Hansi Naegele, our XML programming magician, has even build an 'easter egg' into the AP : place the various selector knobs in the correct position and your Sabre will track the nearest AI aircraft and settle at its six. All *you* have to do is manage the speed. I say no more. :flying:

Thanks again for the kudos, guys !

Cheers,
Jan

Absolutely beautiful! Now all I need are some AI MiG-15s to chase around...

That's exactly what I was thinking! I haven't been able to find any yet, anybody else know of any? Or even a full-strength model?

I was trying to catch some cannon muzzle flashes in this pic but failed. It obviously needs a target.

Jan, you should know this lot better by now, release a brilliant a/c for FS9 only and their impatience for one in FSX shows no bounds!!

By the way, many thanks again for such a wonderful a/c, spent some time on the ground looking at it with the external power connected, canopy opened and helmet plus parachute set neatly on the wing. Boootiful. :dancer:

Regards
Nigel.

Ian :)
The Bear Studios has nice mig-15 and mig-17, but probably not best choice for ai model.
I wish fs9 was a combat sim.

Ian :)
Try mig-15.zip (by Michel Migaud et al) at avsim.com.
Alternatively, if the Sabre is available as a Pakistani F-86F, all you need are some Indian repaints of the Hunter, Vampire, and Gnat (the last was known in the IAF as the "Sabre Slayer").
