Flight Deck 5

Post by Vulcan_to_the_Sky! »

Hi All,

Not so much a heads up as a question! Anyone else got Flight Deck 5, I just bought it today and thankfully only payed £15 for it! This has to be the worst payware addon I have ever bought, the included aircraft are no where up to payware level and I had to manually install it as the installer didn't work.

Think I'll stick to the Sea Vixen for carrier ops in the future!

Doh! :doho:

IF I'd have known that I wouldn't have bothered. And to think that I had the Just Flight Mossie in the other hand at the shop when deciding which one to go for. Its not too bad if you dont look in the cockpit, replace the sounds with the ones from the F-86 and dont zoom in too close. I still prefer the Sabre.

On a related note I won't be flying the sea vixen anymore, have the exe file but not the product key. Emailed skysim but they can't find the order.

EDIT: This has now been sorted by Gordon at skysim - Thanks!

Off to Flightsim.com to see what I can trawl up from the library, I wouldn't be suprised if I could put together a better US Navy carrier package by combining files off there.

Truth be told, I'm pretty ticked off with the blasé attitude by a lot of publishers about carriers, "a carrier is a carrier", "no one really cares about how good a carrier is", "why are you adding all that detail when its only a floating airport", "just stick any old aircraft on there, no one will notice".

Sickeningly most of these reposes were from the types of people who cliqued planes and said roundels were 2" too small, the green on the camo was the wrong shade or the tyres had five grooves not four.

We don't accept tosh for aircraft, why do we accept lower standards for aircraft peripherals ?.

Best

Michael

Alas I use Outlook express and hadn't bothered to make a copy of this particular key (My own stupid fault!)

However, the outstanding gentlemen at Skysim have sorted it out for me, I cannot thank them enough for helping me on this, Its a great aircraft and a much better package than flight deck 5.

Any comment I made before about the sea vixen on this thread should be ignored. I didn't mean for it to come across the way it might have done.

Thank you once again to Skysim.

Now off to fly the sea vixen!

And here was me hoping that someone actually wanted FD5... oh well. I might just have to throw the thing away at this rate!

Chris
