Nvidia is the only way to go :) Glad you've finally given in Tony lol

Anybody with an 8 series card or new and the new drivers tried the physx demos? Some are very average, but the cloth one is superb!

Frame Rates at the refresh rate of the screen should make absolutely anyone happy :flying:

Sorry guys, I should have said that the refresh rate is the maximum frame rate you will see if using DVI.

Dave

I've had a good search, but can't find the site where I found the above info the above.

I regularly achieve 60 FPS in FS9, on the following system.

- Athlon 64 X2 6400 AM2 CPU with 2 x 512KB cache, 3.2GHz
- Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe nForce 5 Motherboard
- NVIDIA Geforce 8800GT 512MB PCI Express Graphics
- 2GB Gskill PC2-6400 DDR2 Memory
- Antec NSK4400 Case
- Enermax Liberty 500watt Power Supply
- NEC 16x Dual Layer DVD-RW(CD-RW, DVD+/-RW, DVD-RAM) with LabelFlash technology
- 320GB 7200 hard disk - Operating system
- 160GB 7200 hard disk - FS9 / FSX
- Sound Blaster Audigy
- Windows XP Home SP2

Its the clouds that really hurt it.

Just tried these with DeadSpace and FarCry 2. Cracking drivers, lots of speed and a little better IQ on my 9800GTX :)

Off topic... Deadspace, what a game! I've not been this scared playing a game since Doom3 :dancer:

Tks for that Kevin ;-)

To be honest, I've no idea what I get in FS9 these days as it's at a point where I don't care. What I see is what I want to see and I can't ask for more ;-)

I can honestly say that its one of the best games I've played in a while. And I'm including Crysis in that.
I've only been playing it in the dark with my 5.1 sound system cranked up to the max... it's terrifying!

Heh that is one of the more cooler levels. The introduction bit of Al-Assad was rather cool too. In fact the game is full of " phwoar! Class!" moments :)
