Hi All,

Been looking at the Belgian Aviation History Association (BAHA)website and there are some photos there of the Westland IV Wessex, an English Tri-motor of the Thirties, and a very fine looking airplane it is ! Another English one was the Shorts Calcutta.

The Century of Flight website lists a good few Tri-motors from the Thirties from different European countries.

I found that the SM79 is the forerunner of the S79 ( I had assumed the opposite for some time...I'll get me coat....), but the 'hump' was removed for the Atlantic raid and those airplanes became the S79s which LAGO used in 'The Crossings', but documentation seems sparse in English to try to find out a bit more about that effort.
