Fuel Question

Dave,

Completed my TR's on the Trident. Sent messages on FS Airlines message system. As for timetables I will see if I can find anything on Timetable images.

Hi Dave, Yes a flight will still expuire after 24hrs as i was unfortunatley unable to complete a flight i booked a few days ago. However i believe if you have attempted to do a flight it sometimes keeps the bookings longer. I have had this happen on a couple of occasions in the past.

I have the BEA all services timetable winter 71/72 so will look at those routes when time permits.

I'd sooner not be tech stopping where it didn't happen if you see what I mean. The one Peter quoted was I think to do with hot/high/runway length (can't remember now and it was only sent last night!) and not the norm for all flights. Checking against his list.. Salonika was probably the furthest distance flown (I'm almost certain this was the case) and is probably the reason why he remembers it (other than the fact it's in his log too) Unfortunately, by the time the flights were amalgamated, the only T2 flights Peter flew were the regular shorthaul he'd been flying on the T3 so there's no way of doing a 'documented' comparison. Hopefully, the timetables will come up with something concrete-ish

I just got a 1955 BEA timetable a couple of days ago which includes the Scottish routes. Year to year I think the only thing which might have changed is the aircraft type as older stuff got pentioned off. There are only a few Islander class flights left, the rest being Pionair. I only got it as it was going for a song at 99p +£1.50 p&p plus it's the year I was born. Of course, if you want it, go for it.

Dave and John,

The other thing I noticed on the TR's is that the fuel on the client is set back to what it was originally on the subsequent flight. This means that it no point, except to practice your maths,in trying to take account of fuel prices on your TR's. As you end up with the same pre loading fuel on each flight if you use the same aircraft. If you look at my TR's for the Trident you will see what I mean.

Tks for that ;-) It may have been done to stop folk doing TR flights and topping up with gas as John mentioned in another thread. Another way to look at it is it also stops inexperienced pilots on a type leaving aircraft empty Nice to know anyway and I didn't

Yes we plugged that loophole. Afterwards, someone actually complained on the forums. It appeared he had a regular training flight set up so he could fill his tanks before a revenue flight :roll: .
