Rick -- I guess the obnoxious ticking is what I remember most -- the AC system like the diesel and the Maddog are very loud
and FE explained why once long ago - something about where the ACM's are located on the 727 - as to the window noise
the reason I know about that is - once long ago I jumpseated from ATL-PHX on a Delta 727 which was full - so I had to ride
up front (For those of you enamoured of riding in cockpits - trust me after almost thirty years of jumpseating if I can get a
seat in the back I will take it

) the conversation about the window noise in relation to cruise speed was interesting -
also the fact that 'shaped" #2 inlet or not - above FL350 the aircraft tended to get intermittent compressor stall on the #2
engine -- it makes for an interesting wake up call for the selfloading cargo in the rear seats.
AS to the Probst panel - I think he may have exaggerated the noise some now that I listen to it.
