Just tried these. Noticed a marked increase in FPS in full screen mode. With the old drivers (169.something) there ware barely any difference between window & full screen. Now it's around 25% faster full screen. FSX on 8800gt.

Just did a very quick try in FS9, with the old Driver T/O 09R lowest frame on roll 19 (very briefly).

New Driver, same settings and R/W lowest (very briefly) 14 frames.

Still trying out different settings but TBH forgetting the momentary drop in FPS, it appears about just the same.

Nigel.

On my system although the image is better the new driver has halved the FPS :-( .

I seem to recall something similar with the last new driver.

System Restore activated. Looks like I shall be back in the Stone Age driverwise before long :dunno: .

Guys,
Please make sure you have one of the NVidia cards that is listed for improvements in this driver. Thats to say the 8 series or newer. Even though the driver supports the older cards, the enhancements will not work on them and if anything may degrade performance ;-)

Everyone who is reporting problems... are you installing the drivers properly?

i) Uninstall old drivers
ii) Reboot into safe mode
iii) Run a third party driver cleaner program
iv) Reboot
v) Install new drivers
vi) Reboot

If you just install your new drivers straight over your old ones you can end up with all sorts of problems.

I suppose I'm a glutton for punishment, one of those who thinks maybe just this once, just one more try!! :worried:

Then I wonder why I bothered!!!! As Ian so correctly said earlier
Nigel has been there and got the T-shirt.
I got another one!!!

Graphics appeared to be slightly better though performance was reduced, not by much, but still reduced. Have now gone back to the 94.24 Driver and found I am back to my former good old frame-rates. :dancer:

I have now given myself an ASBO on any-thing remotely connected to Graphic Card Driver Updates. As the old saying goes, 'If it ain't broke, then leave well alone'.

Regards
Nigel.
