Ian --- Kidlington it was -- also seem to remember one used to turn up at Luton FC occasionally from Leicester
The way the gear was explained to me was it gave the clearance of a taildragger while still maintaining good visibilty
over the nose --- seems like a goods as answer as any --- Oh yes the one from leicester had that odd spinner with
little vortex generator looking thingies like the Zlin -- something peculiar to Walter engines???

Re: L-40 Meta Sokol
Hmm, so much for memory
G-APVU Biggin Hill 1971
G-APWV Biggin Hill 1965
G-AROF Blackbushe 1975
G-ARSO Biggin Hill 1967
G-ASTT Fairoaks 1964 (!)
And most of those were before I could drive so public transport or indulgent father
The Biggin sightings were at the annual Air Show and any subsequent sightings elsewhere were not noted by me :-(
But looking at the GINFO data (I see that pre 1986 data is scanned in now), they were imported via Kidlington and may have been back there later as well.
