Bournemouth Airshow

Post by Scorpius »

Went out into the bay and got a great view. Could have sworn one of the Hawks was aiming for us!

Being ex RAF I am synical about the Red Arrows but they really entertained with an excellent routine and precise flying. well done!

Good to see British Eagle flying again with the DC-6.

Must go next year!

The weather certainly looks better than when we tried to do a flyby for the pre-season press day back in March I think, the cloud base ended up being about level with the cliff top! Fortunately we had two aircraft go u/s and wisely retired to the bar...

Hi,

Sorry to be slighty off topic (but kind of on the same lines!), but did you see the Guppy down there? Whats the latest on her? :dunno:

The note the museum put in their news page about them having it if they could find somehwere for it was quickly deleted . :worried:

That has been taken to mean they didn't and the deal is off :-(

On an aside the Belfast at Southend is availiable to anyone who wants it

They have had several interested approaches but it seems once the parking fees are mentioned they dissappear fast.

So that looks as if it's fate is sealed.

Still being parted out last time I heard :-(

Seems to be scant details on the CL-44.org website. Oh well, I'm sure we'll find out the full facts at some point.

I aint ringing the airfield again!
