Yup.. I've found that too on all but one particular model.. the POSKY 741. If you load it as per RW.. it starts to lose momentum at around FL240 and the only way to get it to near it's normal operating alt is to fly it there adjusting V/S to keep airspeed. Everything I've read suggests a normal operating alt of FL350 but in all honesty.. it won't go there so I've plumped for FL340 which still gives a respectable 290KIAS/478TAS/M.83

Even default (which like the Vistaliners L1011 is just about zero).. it struggles but the struggle starts at around FL280 and it's not happy at FL350. At FL340 and loaded.. N1 and N2 are perilously high.. too high IMHO but the model doesn't break so I try not to look

As a comparison.. the CLS 742 is 'fire and forget'. It does have slightly more powerful engines but even so, climb and cruise N1/N2 are realistic and FAR from the yellow.. not in or beyond it ;-) Also.. fuelburn on the CLS742 is the same (or around the same) at FL350 as the POSKY741 at FL340. At FL340, it's a reasonable amount better. The extra 1000ft gives between 7 and 8kts groundspeed increase so over a long flight, you burn about the same but get there marginally quicker!
