Concorde for FSX...here's one option at least

Post by Grace Quirrel »

Further to the "Just Flight Concorde Professional" thread already running, I thought I'd let you know about this add-on I just bought. I'm sure you long-termers know about it, especially if it's developed from FS9.

It's mediocre at best. That said, it does at least give you a Concorde to fly in FSX - just don't expect too much. The cockpit is extremely basic and initially disappointing when you power her up - a real bodge job. The exterior is pretty good and it's fully animated. FSX beggars can't be choosers...

I did a couple of circuits at Filton earlier and it actually flies quite well / easily up to 200kts, though the default bank angle is fairly terrifying :o . Heaven knows what it will be like at Mach 2. At this stage, I have no idea if you need to shift fuel around or if it does it for you.

I'll try London-New York over the weekend and let you know what happens but look at it this way - it's cheap enough on ebaY until the SST Sim one arrives |-)

That's a rather odd looking site Grace and a company I've not heard of. I see one pack there that would interest one of our members.. EUJet! :o

Congrats Paul.. what a fine memory you have  It was obviously so unmemorable.. I forgot all about it (though I have to admit the box bmps had a certain familiarity about them) ;-)

Well chaps, I did LHR-JFK and return over the weekend and it was fine. 3hrs 34 going out, 3hr 20 coming back. No dramas, overall performance was pretty accurate; after a 31L departure out of JFK I climbed to 390 initially and then straight on to 550 at M1.5 and then 2.0. It tracked the GPS ok (about a mile out) and the descent from 330 miles +/- was drama-free. It does look terrific from the spot view and the sound is pretty good too. Just a shame about the panel.

So like I said in my orginal post, it will do until the SST Sim version comes along...

Hiya Grace

Sounds like it might be worth the money if you want a Concorde the fill the gap for now....that's the bottom line.....is it worth the money in you opinion

Pity that the panel is not up to much

But at least knowing that before hand you know what you're paying for :)

Thanks for the report

Hey Garry,

Yes it is really. If you go to the item in ebaY you can make an offer - that's what I did, and paid £8.00 + £1.99 postage.
You get loads of original liveries too, including the final BA colours.

There you go

That sort of money.....well a couple of rolls some crips and a 2 litres of soft drink from the garage would be about the same, you can afford to take a chance :worried:
