Re: Hello Sailors!!!!!!
Please bear in mind that Dave B believes that on this forum half of us use FS9 the other half have moved on to FSX.
For a pensioner who has to make his computer last and has been using FS9 for yonks I am unlikely to move to FSX. I have too much FS9 stuff eg FSNav, ActiveSky weather and a very great deal of scenery.
I have managed to put two operating cats plus arrester wires on our current HMS Eagle in FS9 using RB's cat and arrester gauges.
The new model looks 'magnificent' no pun intended!

Sorry, my error.
Definitely HMS Ark Royal - it is written thus on a battle honours board on the port side of the island!

Re the annae size....it not always the size that makes them too big
There is a tendency for them to be textured black which exaggerates the size.

Re: Hello Sailors!!!!!!
Hello Mate
Consistantly good shots of Eagle during that period are hard to come by and odd as it may seem.. the clearest of the ones I've seen would suggest her whips were either painted black or they were all very dirty
On ALL ships.. the aft aerials suffer dirt from the stack/s and ships with larger aft masts will have the top painted black in an attempt to lessen the effect (hide the dirt)
Personally, I can't recall any whip being painted black in my time (they were not painted at all to be honest.. by the ships crew that is.. they came grey as new and that is the only paint they ever got to the best of my knowledge) but.. the Suez was a little before my time
MickeyD.. I used to smoke ciggies back then and always found the packets a useful source of writing material!
