Some screenshots

Hey speedbird, do you think I should post some of my recent screenies in the gallery?
Oh! Good idea, speedbird, you haven't done that for ... well, days ...
Yes, speedbird. I've got a really original idea this time!
Oooh, lovely, what's that speedbird?
I though my chums at CBFS might like to see a sequence of a VC10 landing at Hong Kong!
But ... you always do that, speedbird!
Yes, isn't it a great idea?

Honestly, I can't see any valid reason for change of subject...

Ha ha! What a great day at Speedbird Mansions! The present Mrs Speedbird's brother finished the new bathroom for a mutually agreeable price, I replaced the beloved gas-guzzler with a jolly little eco-friendly buzz-box for £2,000 under budget, cyberbrat stunned us with some astonishing GCSE results and Dan and Jim have encouraged me to post yet more VC10s landing at HKG! Oh if only every day was as good ...

Of course, every silver lining has a dark cloud :-( One of the cats got stuck in a drawer under the bed and when finally freed, threw up on the bedroom floor - but I forgave it!

Just a note about FlyTampa Kai Tak. For FS9 users ONLY there is a patch (WIP) available at the FlyTampa website
http://www.flytampa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3213
So far it addresses:
- Memory Leak fix
- Afcad fixes that caused some users to CTD or not able to load VHHX
- Threshold surface smooth
- AI-Ships no longer need GA Traffic enabled
- Some of the lights go on sooner at dusk (5PM instead of 6PM)
- Checkerboard flashing light
- Removed green obstruction light in Kowloon
- lowered red obstruction light for wide-left checkerboard approach
- Added flashing red lights on hills

Cheers me dears

Ian :)

Well Ian, apart from those wonderful shots it appears that you have left this virtual land of ours and emigrated!!

Regards
Nigel.

No, I haven't gone far, Nigel. I got rather involved putting my retro Kai Tak together and then I went into a couple of busy weeks with work and having a new bathroom fitted. So not much relaxation time. It's calmed down a bit now so I've got more time to enjoy the fruits of my labour and visit the forum to see what everybody else is doing.

I was a bit too ambitious with the original idea of weekly flightplans with a different timetable at weekends. I eventually scrapped the idea of the airshow as the AI prop jockeys were totally useless! So I rewrote them as simple daily flightplans which are much easier to manage. It was worth all the work as I'm really pleased with the result and it means my Classic British jets now have a suitable home base and don't look anachronistic.

I suppose the next project will be to do the same with DM's retro Manchester - but not yet!

Ian :)
