I guess it means that the UK Royal Mail has never heard of the International Postman's Creedo that the mail shall always get through...

Oh well, guess they never heard of horses, motorbikes, or any other form of alternate transport to deliver the mail...

BTW, if you think that road is bad, I can think of several in Colorado that are worse and yet they still get their mail. The postman drives a 4x4 vehicle with rollbars and a winch to deal with any "issues" that may be encountered.

TBH Chris.. I thought exactly the same when I read this post earlier. I think that must have applied to when being a Postman was considered a job for life

Whenever the RoyalMail monopoly used to be threatened they always used to say that the price of a stamp ensured delivery anywhere in the country. H & S obviouslytrumps that claim.

What makes it worse is: -

"Carrying the mail on foot is also out of the question, because the postman has a 'bad back'."

and: -

"What is annoying is this postman has only started this round this year, he's always wanted this run, then once he gets it he wants his run cutting down.

Isn't an easier option to put the younger postman back on this run who would have loved the job, he had no problem with it, it would still mean we all get the post and the service which everyone pays for.

I don't expect we're going to get cut price stamps for the limited service we get?"

We all complain about H&S but who's to blame??

Trouble is nowadays folks sue for the slightest reason and this is making insurance companies and employers tighten up to a ridiculous level

I can imagine a postman suing and saying his bad back (a normal condition for older people) was caused by the road and the PO having to pay up becuse they didn't stop him using it

The current society of "everything is always someone else fault", has got to stop this nonesense and grow .........one day you won't be able to do anything 'just in case'

And that day is fast approaching
