Rail Simulator

Post by Vulcan_to_the_Sky! »

Ok.....so I know that its a flightsim site, but I was wondering how many flightsimmers also have an interest in other simulators. Specifically Rail Sim. I Used to use the microsoft game but this is even better, down to actual passengers at stations, no warning box should you go through a Red Light and FSX like cockpits.

Anyone else like to play simulators such as this?, when they have time.

I've never tried Rail Sim, but I am familiar with some of the other railroad simulations. MSTS and Trainz are fun but I keep coming back to BVE. :) For those who've never heard of BVE it's a freeware (cab-view) railroad simulation. Here's a few screenies taken on a couple of UK routes.

BVE can be downloaded from here...http://mackoy.cool.ne.jp/
Various UK routes and trains can be found here...http://www.trainsimcentral.co.uk/index.htm

I use a number of trainsims as well as the flightsims. What with my dad coming from Eastleigh there is loads of aviation and railway heritage so i am interested in both. I haven't really got into railsim yet despite having it for some time but have used MS trainsim for years and i am still creating content for it. I also agree with you Brian BVE is excellent, I notice the excellent Birmingham cross city route, one of my favorites.

Well.. I don't have trainsim.. any trainsim but I DO have shipsim and it stinks

Talking to the old gits at Brooklands (the ones older than me that is) many have an interest in trains and buses.. in fact, most things that have an engineering element of some sort. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would use a train simulator but many say the same about flightsim too

I got Ship simulator in Game for 99p. :dancer:

Well, I was dancing until I loaded it up.......

I suppose it was mildly entertaining doing the river taxi service, sustaining damage to cargo vessels.....

  Classic British boat sim?
