Paolo..

The Genesis mesh really is good mate and it being the 'free demo' area is a bonus. Let us know how you get on ;-)

Ok mate's, the mesh looks okay, started first at ireland, not much moutains there though, it's almost flat most of the time heading north east, no problems with the UK2000 sceneries too. looks ok for now :flying:

Nice one Paolo ;-) I don't know if you're au fait with the much talked about 'Mach Loop'.. take off from Llanbedr on the southerly runway then look to your left.. but this entire area comes to life where before, it was flat as a catwalk models chest :worried: You get the idea anyway.. I hope ;-) Happy Birthday btw

Off topic, but speaking of Llanbedr does anyone know of any FS9 scenrey or AFCAD files available for this airport? The stock FS9 version is a little sparse - no taxiways, parking and so forth. I have searched without any luck.

Except some elevated lochs, the genesis mesh is reasonably good (STILL a mystery why there's no high res mesh for the whole of Scotland for FS9) - and things such as North Berwick law are easily seen if not totally accurate :flying:

If I had any clue about navigation I'd go and have a look at various landmarks, but unless it's GPS between airfields I'm lost :$

nigel..

I've a feeling there are freeware afcads out there for Llanbedr but I use the one that comes with UK2000 Part 6 Wales and West Midlands. It's a lot to pay for only 1 airport although the pack comes with 34 ;-)

Dave,

I will have another look for AFCADS but I have tried before with no joy. I suppose I could invest in UK2000, or do my own if I ever have time. There is a failry good Google sat image of the airport.

I know the airport was used by the RAF until 2004 and that it is currently closed but a group has purchased or leased the rights to use it from the Welsh government. I found that the Snowdonia Society is objecting so I imagine a lot of solicitors are going to get wealthy. I can almost see their point - that area of Wales is absolutly beautiful, but on the other hand, that area also needs some commercial air service, and the RAF buzzed around Snowdonia for ages before the base closed. In fact, I found one source that stated the area was the RAF's "playground." I found all this while looking for that AFCAD, btw.

Cheers,
N2
