Hi George, welcome to the forums. There are many tech-savvy members who post here so I'm sure you'll receive a deluge of advice, however it might help if you posted your current system specs so we can get an idea of what you are currently working with.

Hi George

I recommend

An socket 755 (intel) motherboard (ASUS or another top quality brand) don't go for a buget board!
decent Powersupply (I use a TAGAN 900w) but aim for at least 700w capability and good quality
4 GB of DDR800 or faster Memory (2 gb for 32 bit OS)
Intel Q6600 CPU (quad Core)
Nvidia 8800GTS or one of the new 9000 series cards.

that will give you a solid FSX experience with most sliders in the high zone
and will run smoothly at all times.

the above system spec runs FS9 for me at 60 to 80 FPS with everything maxed and just about any scenery or weather program.

If you are building a FSX machine i would Go Windows Vista 64 as DX-10 preview mode is stunning for me as long as your not using FS9 portover models.

Regards
Rick

Hi George

the 748 works 99.5% fine in FSX sp2a for me. (dx9 mode)

just a couple of chrome areas on the VC panel but nothing thatstops it flying or working ok.

I have a FSX compatible conversion done that works pretty well in FSX.

If there is enough demand i might upload the FSX compatible HS.748 (it's not a full native FSX model!)

Regards
Rick

Rick. Now I know you must be fed up with this question but here goes, Will there ever be a virtual cockpit for your Dove I sure hope the answer is yes because it,together with the rest of your aircraft rank as the best of the best, commercial or otherwise, and it really does deserve one.Mind you I hav'nt got a clue whats involved in such a project.

Rock on

Hello George :)

No problem, it's not the first time there's been a reference to Rick's Dove...personally I think it's the best model he's made...

I won't be adding a VC anytime soon although it was part of the original plan...I've a few other projects on the go at the mo, so the Dove isn't a priority. If I added a VC then I may as well re-build the Dove for FSX and I haven't got the time for that either....not yet anyway...

Derek ;-)
