Re: More Hawking....
I assume all these Hawks pics are the sky-sim one. How better is it compared to the DSB one - Is it worth having it unless you are a REAL Hawk enthusiast?

Re: More Hawking....
To say that its the best model I've flown to date, wouldn't be overstating it, and for a cheeky £22.50 its a bit less expensive than some. When Rick said he was doing a Hawk last year, I was a bit surprised. It never really lit my fire in the real world, but I did have two Airfix models, one Red Arrows, and one camo.Chris558 wrote:I assume all these Hawks pics are the sky-sim one. I've been fortuante to see her as shes progressed and I do have a liking for her now, as she does take me back to that airplane daft boy I was in the '80s.
I am biased, there is no doubt, but I know people who aren't really into mil jets at all, but have totally fallen in love with this. Pre FSX I used to blast arround in the Meteor and it always felt great.... This is my Meteor for FSX.

Hi Chris..
I'd pretty much agree with Ben's statement. There really is no comparison between the DSB Hawk and this one other than outwardly (and at a distance).. they both look like Hawks. However.. if fast, single-seaters (OK.. I know the Hawk has two.gggg) are not your bag, then why spend money getting it. I've not bought it for that very reason. I applaud the work, the craftsmanship that has gone into it but I'm not a Hawk fan ;-)
Tony..
You'd have to get past the Arks CAP first mate.. if you fancy your luck

Re: More Hawking....
Damn....sorry to ask something that may have been common knowledge, but is that Glamorgan coming out or Old? It was my first choice for my first Max modelling project and I currently only have a hull! I guess I shall move onto something else she does look nice!XR219 wrote:Hi Neil,
Its the old beta of Glam I had... you don't want to be bombing anything RN ;-)
Cracking shots, man that Hawk is nice, going to grab that at the weekend, I feel some FRADU re-paints coming on, there again I did design their current Sqn/Unit badge so I guess I am biased!!
Re: More Hawking....
Hi Mate,
Rick will kill me again (I'm rapidly using up my 9 lives)
Glam is a wee side project of Ricks. I've no idea if he intends to release her, but I love taking screen shots with her as I think she's the muts nutts.

Yup.. one day Ark will have a guardship from the correct era ;-) I'm still waiting for an idiots guide to make Ark transcend the FS9/FSX divide (and it will have to be that way as Glam is not going backwards) which might give me more of an incentive to move up.. at least occassionally ;-) I'll leave Ben to work out the naughty bits as I don't do AI in FSX

Re: More Hawking....
Ok perhaps I'll carry on with my Glamorgan then, its a personal project for me like the Ark was after all.
I've got some nice pics of the Mk 3 Wessex on here from 1970-71, I shall have to up load them.
Sketchy.

Hi Mate
Glamorous Organ will be out eventually but have to model all the small parts on board yet.
Also have a "Leander" class in progress.
Both FSX native and landable
Regards
Rick
