Sadly this is one of those things that you have to do for yourself to really realise how good/bad it can be, no amount of mails or pre release prep talk can ever convey the range of emotions developers go through on release day.

Best

I've tracked down the problem

Its a pre-processing problem. On some systems the activation process is bombing out to start loading scenery etc. I've moved the activation process to different areas of the processing loop. It will effectively now keep trying to activate until its successful. Previously it was only trying once. It now has the full 5 mins of the trial period to complete the activation process rather than 1 shot.

A replacement gauge will go up later this evening. Brian will place this gauge into all future downloads (probably not before 0200 GMT though).

Regards

Jim

PM me with your e-mail address if you want a copy of the gauge NOW!

Oh God, I hope I didn't start all this.

Rick, please don't worry too much about issues that aren't in your hands. I can understand why you might get a little stressed over such issues, as at the end of the day, it's your fine work that you want people to enjoy. I'm sure my activation issue will be resolved in time. :)

Tweek PM me and I'll send you a replacement gauge to see if that fixes it

Pointless gesture Rick. If you wrote the anti-pirate software and/or were responsible for the activation and/or download site.. then yep.. look for a decent thorn bush to beat yourself with. As it happens.. you made the model so the rest is out of your hands. Field the non-RTFM questions and any others regarding the build but there's nowt else you can do. Hopefully (and I sincerely hope this is the case..) folk here know the situation well enough not to go burning effigies outside your house ;-)

Can't count myself as one of the happy buyers and probably won't as the Hawk has never lit my fire and it's not something I'm ever likely to fly. By the same token.. I promiss not to buy any other like for like Alpha product either

Go and get your head down

Luddite David... have you never felt the need to go screeching around the hedgerows at 400+ knots scaring the c**p out of cows and farmers alike..

Yes I have Brian but that would be in a Tonka GR4 mate.. not a Hawk  A viable alternative would be low level in a Lanc or high level in a Rapide (which amounts to much the same but at a speed I can enjoy) ;-) The only thing that interests me when I see a Hawk display is the skill of the pilots.. not the actual aircraft itself.. sorry :worried:

Who knows Dave, all Ricks new skills from the Hawk development will hopefully come in useful on a big prop one day. :worried:
